Education Day Abdul Kalam Azad Birth Anniversary

G D Goenka School, Indirapuram celebrated National Education Day with great verve and zeal to commemorate the efforts of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and his ideas on education. His exemplary contributions to the field of education and institution building paved the way for the country’s modern system. Reputed as the main architect of education, he served as the first education minister of India from 1947 to 1958.
The celebrations began with a zestful participation of students in a special assembly conducted by class VII A, where in the students showcased the importance of education in our lives and for one and all in the world through inspiring and powerful Nukkad Natak. Their dance performance motivated the young Goenkans to understand that education is a utility which makes human a personality, so study hard and give your best. A short speech was delivered on the importance of the day by highlighting the contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in shaping India. The students were enlightened about the need of education to prosper in life.
Speaking on the event the Vice-Principal, Ms Shalin Vadhera, stated the ways to achieve educational goal as education is powerful weapon that can change the world. She emphasized that 'Power of Learning' and ‘Self –discipline’ can sculpt a better society and brighter future.
